Mark Sanchez is the Newer, Thinner Nate Newton

With about six minutes left to bleed off in the Jets' 38-0 blasting of the Raiders, CBS cameras caught Mark Sanchez furtive scarfing down of a hot dog while sitting on the bench. It's not quite as bad as the Nate Newton incident in which he tried to hide a Snickers bar inside his uniform, but even with a few minutes remaining and a prohibitive lead, Sanchise probably could've held out a little bit longer.

He did show sufficient contrition afterward.

"I want to apologize for that," Sanchez said. "I wasn't feeling very good and didn't eat much before the game, so I was feeling a little queasy. Toward the end of the game, I probably should have eaten one of those bars or something, but someone offered [a hot dog], so I grabbed it and tried to be discreet about it, but obviously not discreet enough. So I shouldn't have done that, and it won't happen again."

Someone offered a hot dog on the sideline? Do the vendors happen to venture that close to field. And I thought having beer guys dip into the restrooms was bad.

Mitch Berger used to eat a candy bar during every game. What’s the big deal?

They should probably cut him for this…. or at least bench him until they can find a trading partner.

Slow news day, hey TSN?

Yet another sign that the apocalypse is coming – Sanchez having the audacity to eat a hot dog.

I don’t know what’s worse, somebody actually putting this on you tube, SN finding this "newsworthy", or the fact that Sanchez had to apologize for eating a hot dog.
