Those two tweets above were regrettable. Johnson is having a terrible season though, at 358 yards on 132 carries. The average of 2.7 yards per carry is well below his career average of 4.4. He hasn't found the end zone yet this season. Sure, frustration is understandable, but keep it in house. Maybe air it out to your boys. Don't be stupid and put it out there for everyone to see. (Although, now Johnson has clearly learned his lesson and made his Twitter account private.)
When one user on Twitter, jaredlaunius, called out L.J.'s hypocriscy of criticizing his coach given his own poor play, it didn't end well. He lashed out and used a homophobic slur. So yeah, not Johnson's finest Sunday.
I love having athletes on Twitter. I think it's a lot of fun to get some insight into the lives of a lot of these guys. This, however, is the downside. Players have found an entirely new avenue to create PR messes for their teams. I don't suspect this is the last we'll see of it. You've also got to wonder, based on poor play plus off-the-field headaches, how much longer we'll see him in a Chiefs uni.
UPDATE: Well, it got even more ugly. Johnson told reporters to get their "fa---- a-- out of here" today when the media tried to talk with him in the locker room today.

lj’s father is one of the best recruiters on the east coast and one hell of a college football coach. he is a mentor to many of the athletes he coaches. i can only hope when JoePa leaves the program that LJ Sr. takes over.
he passed on his physical gifts to his son, but not his personality.

Larry Johnson doing what losers do best…complain instead of working hard…..it’s as if Larry thinks he’s a man based on what his father did.

Its his way to remind everyone that he still is in the NFL.

someone needs to inform larry johnson that he isn’t a good running back, my grandma could have ran behind that great o-line a few years ago. he can’t catch the ball and his speed is comparable to a **** turtle. bench this scrub the rest of the season, nothing but a cancer.

they should cut ties with this low-life animal as soon as they can. every since he tried to say that he prferred to have a black coach over a white one…this racist’s career has gone right into the toilet.

In between beating up women at a local club, losing a lucrative contract because he is criticising Herm Edwards, knocking Kansas City because it’s a hick town, blasting Chief’s fans because we’re not loyal (7 wins in the last three full season…I said 7) it must be difficult to find time to make an arse out of yourself. But apparently he’s a hard worker.

Why are idiot/classless athletes allowed to interact with decent people? Can’t we just lock them away in cages and let them out for practice and games? LMAO The league should come up with a series of tests players should have to pass before speaking/ tweeting.
Johnson is averaging 2.7 yrds per carry and he thinks he has a right to criticize. Add that to all his off the field problems and he should be sitting in a corner quietly pretending to be invisible(if he were smart).

Yet another reason to despise Twitter. Look, I hate PC but in this case, LJ needs to be called out for the slurs. That’s flat out WRONG!
Of course, this could be his way of trying to get out of KC…

Funny, when Dick Vermeil called LJ a "big baby," he was greatly offended. Yet, it certainly sounds like LJ is prone to baby like temper tantrums. Why keep bottle feeding this cat like he’s an infant? 2.7 yards a carry? Sheesh, this is a no brainer, cut him loose. I’m sure he can land a gig at Gerbers testing baby food.

Here we go again…Larry Johnson running his mouth and not performing…the Chiefs should have traded him at the deadline for anyone who would have taken him…he is a cancer on the team, and will divide the clubhouse. Larry’s daddy played briefly in the NFL…big deal…Haley’s daddy helped build the Steelers. Larry I have a question…how many rings do you and your daddy have??? Answer…0!
Haley needs to bench Johnson asap and take charge of this team, or he will lose all credibility with the other players…Management needs to suspend Johnson for the rest of the season w/o pay for conduct detrimental to the team, and trade him in the off-season.

I’m not surprised this guy has been an childish knocklhead for quit some time. I’m glad he is a Chief instead of Raider. We have enough problems in Raider Nation that’s for sure.

Where is Al Shapton & Jessie when one of their boi’ uses the gay "N’ word. Shouldn’t someone be on TV calling for someone’ job or marching in the street? Seeing as therir both reverends and believe in an eye for an eye I guess the gays now have the right to call LJ a n****

hey larry was your dad the one who taught you to show respect for your coach and your team? or did he teach you to yap like a little brat and cry ‘daddy! daddy!’ when things don’t go the way you want? which is it?

GATORGORILLA went too far.
You cant compare the plight of a people who were SLAVES and treated like animals for years (legaly by the way) over the COLOR of their SKIN, to people being discriminated against over a lifestlye chioice. There is no "N" word BUT the "N" word.
Think what you want about L J….I couldnt care less, but dont go there.
