The groundswell of insurrection among the Washington Redskins fanbase began shortly into the Dan Snyder era in D.C., but it's finally reached the breaking point these last few years. This season, however, the animus against those who have brought low a once proud franchise has boiled over into madness.
Take, for example, Charles Tomasch, the former owner of the "Redskins Van," a burgundy and gold painted van that was for years a stable at Redskins tailgates. His feelings for the team soured by Snyder machinations, Tomasch's season tickets are gone and the Redskins Van traded into the Cash for Clunkers program. Now Tomasch wants revenge on the man who ruined the Redskins for him -- by creating a movement that will persuade Snyder to sell the Redskins. Or at least force him to hire someone and get out of the way. Knowing Snyder, the latter is even more off the table than the former.
Much in the style of the Bengals-oriented site Who Dey Revolution, Tomasch and a group of friends want to take their message to conspicuous public places -- billboards and the side of buses. Their immediate goal, which they will embark on tonight at FedEx Field before the Redskins-Eagles game, is to raise $8,250 for 10 Metrobus ads to run for two to four weeks, 12 signs to go on the buses, a $500 donation to the Muscular Dystrophy Association and $250 to cover the Paypal fee.
Whereas Who Dey Revolution seeks to pressure the Bengals ownership to hire a proper general manager, these Redskins fans seek a wholesale change in ownership, which will likely be much more difficult to bring about with public pressure, given the fact that pro sports franchises remain immensely profitable and all.

Until Snyder is out of the picture the Redskins will continue to suffer.
