In an up and down year for Tennessee’s Lane Kiffin, this would have to be considered an “Up,” as no less than Lil Wayne mentioned Kiffin in new song. To which Kiffin replies via Twitter:
looking forward to another great practice today and a huge game saturday…also a huge shout-out to Lil Wayne for boosting our street cred!
But wait a second, how much credibility does this really carry? Among many others, some of the names he drops on his latest mixtape: Emeka Okafor, Aaron Brooks, Deion Sanders, Rafael Nadal, and of course, his “Vince Young suicide doors.”
But more than anything, a later endorsement makes Wayne’s Kiffin shout out ring hollow: at the 2:00 mark of this song, he shouts out the Vols’ worst nemesis, Tim Tebow…
Is nothing sacred, Wayne? Tebow?! The man duets with Kenny Chesney! One can only hope he’ll remix Rocky Top with autotune to repent.
