SB Nation's Week 8 NFL Picks

In a week full of blowouts, SB Nation's NFL bloggers went a respectable 9-4 during Week 7. With the season nearing its midway point, they've put their prognosticating hats back on as they prepare for Week 8.

Among this week's highlights: our bloggers like the Lions - yes, the Detroit Lions - to win the Toilet Bowl against the Rams, while they think the Denver Broncos' charmed run will come to an end in Baltimore.

Oh, and there's also the small matter of a certain number four making a homecoming of sorts in Green Bay. SB Nation's NFL bloggers don't think that game will end so well for Favre...

	Dallas Cowboys	Will Miles Austin continue his recent tear? Will Damarcus Ware take advantage of the Seahawks' porous offensive line and terrorize Matt Hasselbeck? Seattle likely doesn't have enough answers for all the problems the Cowboys will pose. Look for the Cowboys to roll at home.
	Detroit Lions	Even Detroit fans are wondering if the Rams might be the worst team ever - supplanting last year's Lions and the 1976 Bucs. Whether the Rams do "win" that ignominious honor, our bloggers like the Lions to eke one out at home.
	New York Jets	This game figures to be close enough that Mark Sanchez shouldn't have the luxury to chow down on a hot dog on the sidelines. Nonetheless, our bloggers think the Jets will get revenge for their last second loss a few weeks back, when the Dolphins repeatedly gouged Gang Green with the Wildcat.
	Indianapolis Colts	It'll be a battle of top overall picks, as Alex Smith takes on Peyton Manning! Given, that's like saying Kwame Brown versus Lebron James is a matchup of top picks, but for Niners fans, there's at least a glimmer of hope that they might have a long-term answer at quarterback after Smith's boffo second half performance in relief of Shaun Hill last week. 	Chicago Bears	After last week's shellacking, the Bears could use some good news. And here it is: the Browns are coming to town! At least for this week, look for everything to be
	Baltimore Ravens	On the road, against a desperate and rested Ravens team coming off its bye, our bloggers think the Broncos' undefeated run will end. Then again, it's never safe betting against a team that has pulled out wins on plays like this or this. You've been warned.
	Houston Texans	Can Ryan Fitzpatrick keep up his winning ways? Um, don't count on it, say our bloggers. Even with Andre Johnson banged up with a contused lung, look for the high-flying Texans offense to carry the team once again. With a favorable schedule over the second half of the season, look for the Texans to make a playoff push; you heard it here first.
	Philadelphia Eagles	Although the Eagles easily handled the Skins last week, both they and the Giants have looked vulnerable. Look for the Eagles to hold serve at home, as they'll copy the Cardinals' blueprint and relentlessly blitz Eli Manning, daring him to beat them deep.
	Tennessee Titans	With Vince Young back under center for the Titans, our bloggers like Tennessee to do something they haven't done in 2009: score more points than their opponent. And Jeff Fisher, here's a suggestion: Vince Young and Chris Johnson running the Wildcat. What is there to lose at this point?
	San Diego Chargers	How bad are the Raiders? Advanced NFL Stats only gives them an 8% chance of winning against an average Chargers team. Presumably that 8% chance represents the odds of the Raiders permanently benching "JaCarcass" Russell and finally trotting someone who can consistently hit wide open receivers.
	Green Bay Packers	Ah, Brett Favre Bowl 2.0. I wonder if anyone will care about this game? Aside from the theatrics of Favre returning to Title Town for the first time since leaving the Packers, our bloggers think Green Bay will stop Jared Allen from river dancing the whole game, keeping Aaron Rodgers upright long enough for him to direct the Packers to the win, and draw even with the Vikings in the loss column.
	Arizona Cardinals	Unfortunately for Carolina, the Cardinals boast the top rushing defense in the league, so the Panthers' chances will rest firmly on the right arm of Jake Delhomme - who is still the starter despite leading the league in picks. Our bloggers do not see this ending well for the Panthers.
	New Orleans Saints	While the Saints' offense has justifiably dominated the headlines, their defense has emerged as a big-play unit itself, with five touchdowns on the year. Darren Sharper in particular ha capitalized off teams forcing the ball down the field, as they futilely try to keep pace with the Saints' offensive juggernaut. Don't be surprised if the Saints defense scores again on Monday night, as Matty Ice struggles throws it down field.
