I believe that sound you're hearing is Juan Pablo Montoya having the last laugh.

If I were Bob Griese, I’d tell ESPN what they could eat and go to work for someone else.

I don’t get it, they suspended him for being psychic?

Anyone who has followed Juan Pablo Montoya from CART/IndyCars to Formula 1 and into NASCAR knows that he is one of the more colorful, light-hearted characters in the world of auto racing. He’s a refreshing personality in a sport that’s really devoid of them, which is surprising given racing’s rich and checkered past, but not surprising given that sponsorship dollars and the dull, corporate suits that dole them out pretty much run the sport these days. Anyway, Juan Pablo is as funny a guy off the track as he is a fierce competitor on it. I wouldn’t even be surprised to see Montoya get ESPN to film him giving a ride-around to Bob Griese at one of the last races. They could turn it into something really funny, and maybe even get fans some free tacos in the process!

Dung Beetle.
This is it? This is to be considered a follow up to Griese’s suspension? A dung beetle could have done this.
Griese was wrong to stereotype. The part everyone is missing is that his stereotype was so woefully off the mark.
Montoya is Columbian. Tacos are associated with Mexico. There is a reason that Montoya was not offended initially by the remark: he didn’t know what Griese was implying.
Had Montoya known that Griese had associated him with Mexico, he would have responded more quickly and vociferously. Both nationalities are that prideful.
Hence Montoya’s belated/elated response.
This story isn’t worth the time it took to respond but you are the one who chose to make it personal, Littman.
Just an idea: say something once in a while. Anyone can flit and twit about the ’net and copy/paste.
Raise the bar.
