Saints FB Heath Evans Tears ACL, Out For Season; DT Sedrick Ellis Out Indefinitely

While the Saints have left their fans with plenty to cheer for so far this season en route to an undefeated record, there's a bit of bad news on the bayou on the injury front. CBS Sports reports that fullback Heath Evans will miss the rest of the season after tearing an ACL, while DT Sedrick Ellis will be out indefinitely with a knee strain.

While Evans was a solid lead blocker and red zone option for the potent Saints attack, losing Ellis, a former first-round pick out of USC, is the bigger blow, as he's a big part of their disruptive defensive line.

Bad news indeed!

However, consider this ~ 2009 is a special season for the Saints. Diehard fans, as well as bandwagon groupies, expect more miracles throughout the season. As the defense has stepped up and made a name for themselves, so will the backup roster. There’s something brewing in the bayou. Call it skill, fate, karma, or just plain VooDoo. Be afraid. Be VERY afraid!

Fat, dumb, and happy. Hell, two out of three ain't bad!
