You know, too often in this business, we tend to focus on the positives. The tight ends who help out at the soup kitchens, the pitchers who help build houses with Habitat for Humanity -- sure, we all know that these things happen. But once in a while, we should revisit the stories that depress us.
Ex-NBA player Rumeal Robinson tricked his foster mother, who took him in when he was 12 years old, into signing over the deed to her home. Apparently Robinson was involved in a shady business transaction, and the home was seized as collateral.
Not only has she lost the home she raised five biological children and more than 15 foster children in, her eviction has displaced the grandchildren who were living with her. Still, she says, "Even with all of this, I still love Rumeal. I just want my home back; this is my city."
There's your depressing story of the day. You're welcome!
