Rodney Harrison, Ray Lewis Kindly Ask You Take Off Your Skirt, Mr. Brady

From halftime of last night’s Sunday Night Football game, here are Ray Lewis’ comments about the incomprehensibly soft roughing the passer call that went against the Ravens, followed by Rodney Harrison doing what he does best: being kind of a jackass:

For those without video-watching ability, Lewis’ comments:

It’s embarrassing to let a defense player play his heart out, do everything he can, and you call something like that? Wow. Then you look at the replay and it’s barely a touch? He’s a man. They can be hit just like us. That’s it. It’s not hard.

To which Rodney Harrison said:

Horrible call. Can’t make this call. And Tom Brady, if you’re listening, take off the skirt and put on some slacks. Toughen up. [Jackass smile]

Lewis’ comments are spot on. I think we’d all agree it was an awful roughing the passer call. Harrison’s insults of Brady, however, are a bit odd considering Brady isn’t the one who called the penalty. See, that’s what the officials do. You’d think Harrison would’ve learned that at some point during his career.

you called it

you’re right.

Rodney Harrison is an idiot. The only way he can get in the headlines is by saying crap like this. Every time he opens his mouth he’s losing more and more credibility.

I wonder if he’s just jealous because he isn’t on a contending team, or that Belichick called Juior Seau before he called Rodney

Re: Brady's skirt...

I think he was referring to Brady’s girlish fist pump after the ref threw the flag. He really does look like an excited little girl! “Hey alright free yards in a big game! Hooray for penalties!”

It's in the video.

Just to be clear. Brady looks at the ref and points at Suggs, then gamely pumps his fist when the ref tugs his flag out of his pants. That’s pretty good sportsmanship!

Was that Tom or Gisele?

The call(s) were horrible, on both sides of the ball. That’s great, Gisele Brady whines for a flag and gets it. Tommy, my local soccer team needs someone good at taking a dive to get free kicks in the penalty box, you free on Sat mornings? If you want to protect a player from injury then make the rule applicable to everyone, otherwise this subjective rule will continue to affect the outcome of the game. From snap to whistle, if you’re on the field you should be able to engage every player the same way. It is embarassing
