Matthew Stafford Dislocates Knee Cap

Give credit where credit is due. The Detroit Lions are 1-3 as a team but at least they look like they’re moving in the right direction as a NFL franchise. But all of that could be in question because their #1 overall pick in the draft, QB Matthew Stafford, injured his knee in Sunday’s game. ESPN reports that it's a dislocated knee cap and the severity of the injury is unknown until further tests, but it was bad enough that he had to leave the game. From Pride of Detroit comes this quote from coach Jim Schwartz:

“He twisted his knee a little bit,” coach Jim Schwartz said. “Obviously we’ll have to do a lot of tests and those kind of things. He wasn’t able to really get it warmed back up again, and we didn’t want to put him back in the game.”

Asked if he thought he could play next Sunday against Pittsburgh, Stafford said: “I don’t know. We’ll see.”
