Vikings Get Their "Safety Score": Vikings 30, Packers 14

Stay connected with SB Nation

After the Vikings punted and the ball was downed at the one-yard line, you just knew nothing good could come of this for the Packers. And sure enough…

Jared Allen tackled Aaron Rodgers right on the goal line, Rodgers fumbled the ball at the one and the Vikings recovered. Then again, it looked like Rodgers was actually down in the endzone before the fumble. And so, in a weird twist, McCarthy challenged the call, ensuring that it was indeed called a safety, giving the Vikes two points and the ball. Then again, it was still better than giving the Vikes four downs at the one.

Vikes get the ball back now around the 50. Oh, and they have seven sacks on Rodgers tonight. So…pretty much Best Case Scenario for Brett Favre so far.
