MLB.tv is a good option for baseball fans without traditional access to their team’s broadcasts, but it’s occasionally spotty connections tend to mangle the experience. That was a sober review of MLB.tv. Now I want you to forget I ever said it, because forget sobriety: These new features — available for the first time tonight — sound freaking sweet!
This new offering will give fans the ability to customize the online viewing experience by offering up to 10 different stationary camera angles from every MLB postseason game. Today marks a preview of sorts, with the rollout of the full feature set starting with the first playoff game Wednesday: Colorado at Philadelphia.
Subscribers to Postseason.TV can choose to watch one of the available camera angles or up to any four different angles simultaneously in the Quad Mode option. Simply drag-and-drop the chosen camera positions into your screen, or zoom in on one angle only.
Yes, you can actually choose the camera angle as you’re watching. MLB may have been a few years behind that whole steroids thing, but when it comes to digital technology, they bring the pain, son.
