It took a full six months for Michael Crabtree and the San Francisco 49ers to come to agreement, but this morning it looks like the ordeal is finally over. How did both sides finally see to eye-to-eye? Maybe San Francisco’s success robbed Crabtree of any leverage? Maybe Crabtree just missed playing football?
Or maybe it was MC Hammer. As we reported last night, Crabtree and his agent, Eugene Parker, brought the retired and formerly-bankrupt hip-hop star along to their meetings with 49ers president Jed York yesterday. So, after depending on his bail bondsman cousin during the early stages of negotiations, his agent had to call in the big guns. The ultimate cautionary tale for hubris: MC Hammer.
And just like that, Crabtree came to his senses.
