Chip Caray, who did the play-by-play for last night’s tiebreak and will continue to do so throughout the MLB playoffs on TBS, caught plenty of grief on Twitter last night for his overuse of the word “fisted.” This is actually nothing new from Chip: If you’ve watched games he’s called, then you know “fisted” is his go-to anytime a batter makes contact with the ball south of the sweet spot.
But what was far worse than that was his call in the 10th inning of what was one of the biggest plays of the game. Take it away, overly excitable Chip:
“Line drive, base hit! Caught out there!”
Oops.
