Louisville Official: Report Is 'Completely Wrong'

Ahh, internet. Your downsides: rumors can run rampant. Your upside: rumors sometimes beget official statements of denial from the parties involved. From Fanhouse, the statement of Louisville senior associate athletic director Kenny Klein.

Klein said the report, which indicated an announcement would be made no later than next Monday, is “completely wrong information.”

“Tom Jurich and Coach Kragthorpe didn’t even speak on Monday in person or by phone,” Klein said.

So there, internet. Rumor dispelled. We’ll all have to wait, then, for the inevitable firing of Steve Kragthorpe. (Because it’s happening with the certainty of gravity, but not on any particular time line, evidently.)

Ah, the non-denial denial

“Tom Jurich and Coach Kragthorpe didn’t even speak on Monday in person or by phone.”

The following scenarios could have transpired without negating the foregoing statement:

1. Tom Jurich and Coach Kragthorpe communicated on Monday other than in person or by phone.
2. Tom Jurich and Coach Kragthorpe communicated in person or by phone on a day other than Monday.
3. An athletic department official other than Tom Jurich spoke with Coach Kragthorpe in person or by phone on Monday.
4. Tom Jurich communicated with a representative of Coach Kragthorpe other than Coach Kragthorpe himself in person or by phone on Monday.

There are other possibilities, but the point is that the mere fact that it wasn’t Colonel Mustard in the library with the candlestick doesn’t mean Mr. Body isn’t dead . . . or that this game of “Clue” isn’t two-thirds of the way to being solved.

Go 'Dawgs!

IMO

Unrelated, but I wish these updates would go on the bottom of the story like they do on Bloody Elbow. Its annoying to go to the bottom, read down, scroll up, read down, scroll up, read down etc on these articles.
