Scott Hartnell denied any bite occurred in the scrum that took place just seconds before the end of regulation, but does have some interesting comments on what went on inside the pile:

Hartnell told reporters he did not bite Letang, but added that “a lot of stuff happens on the bottom of the pile. He had his hands in my face doing the face wash and we’re rolling around. I can’t say what happened.”

So…Letang’s hands were all over Hartnell’s face doing the “facewash”, and his finger was magically injured without any contact with teeth. Glad that’s straightened out.
