Kris Letang's Finger Gets in the Way of Scott Hartnell's Teeth

The Penguins and Flyers don't exactly exchange Christmas cards, but can't we expect some sense of decorum? By that I mean can we expect that players won't haul off and bite each other in the first month of the season?

In that scuffle in the video above, the Penguins are alleging that Philadelphia's Scott Hartnell bit Kris Letang. You can see Letang make a run for it to be treated by doctors. After the game one of his fingers was heavily bandaged. What did Hartnell have to say about all of this?
Hartnell told reporters he did not bite Letang, but added that "a lot of stuff happens on the bottom of the pile. He had his hands in my face doing the face wash and we're rolling around. I can't say what happened."

You won't be able to find a quote from Letang (at least as of this posting) where he overtly says "I was bitten by Hartnell." His answers during postgame interviews were extremely vague. But let's say he was bitten. As was pointed out on Puck Daddy, Jarkko Ruutu was suspended two games for biting Andrew Peters' hand. If the NHL finds a similar incident took place, an equal punishment seems to be in order.

ya know, if letang didn’t have the rep for being such a gash on the ice, i’d say his accusations might have some merit.

that said, and given its the flyers, i fully expect buttman to come around and dole out some kind of punishment. because if he didn’t, crosby might get angry and not man the glory hole on friday nights.

Can’t win game, cry and bite!   Flyers lost 20 0ut of the last 30!  Better get babysitter Flyers, Stevens ain’t getting it done!

I hate the Flyers. They are a dirty team. The city itself sucks and the fans suck as well. … Oh yeah, Pittsburgh sends them home in the playoffs everytime.

I’d love to see NoHartnell smashed in the face with a brick. Tuff-guy prik.

Heres an idea, lets put Bullfag and Hartnell in the same room. Then we can see who gets there face smashed in. :) Thats what I love about the Flyers, whenever they do something every other fan in the NHL jumps on them and says how horrible they’re.

Got to love since psudrozz can’t make a sensible argument as to why it’s wrong to bite someone he resorts to an immature comment about Crosby. See that’s the thing with Flyer fans. They know that Pittsburgh OWNS their team so they try to make themselves feel somewhat better by resorting to comments that make them look like jack*sses. Sad and pathetic. But would you expect anything less from their fanbase. I mean if my team got knocked out by the same team TWO years in the row then I would be sort of grumpy as well.

wait, you came here for a sensible argument?

and what makes you think i’m a flyers fan?  most of the league, and players for that matter, can’t stand bettman’s wet dream.

and i’m not grumpy.  the only way i’d be grumpy is if i lived in pittsburgh.

You mean if you lived in the CITY OF CHAMPIONS aka pittsburgh! Thats where i live and i woke up with a smile on my face this morning as i do every morning.

hey-you should be extremely proud of the two sports championships garnered.  because it just makes the hell of living in that urban decay that much more endurable (i keed i keed, southside is actually fun)

but really, I wouldn’t start the "city of champions" rallying cry.  maybe something along the lines of "WE KNOW FOOTBALL".
much as i’d hate to say it, boston earned the moniker.

I guess I forgot that hockey is a p*ssy sport. If some of you actually played hockey you would understand what goes on in piles and scruffs, especially when you play rivals. I can garuntee Letang had his hand in Hartnell’s face and Hartnell bit it, which isn’t that big of a deal because if the situation was turned around I would expect it to go the same way.

Here’s what I saw several times during that game.  The crybaby Penquins never ever square off one on one with a Flyer.  They always have to have a two on one.  And they never ever get called on it.  And if you watched the game, you saw four or five Punkquins crying to the refs as soon as the horn ended the period.  I don’t care what happen.  Take care of your own business, don’t go crying to the refs.  But they do because they are the darlings of the league and get protected by the refs.

There should be consequences and if it happens again Phillie should loose TV coverage as seen in college sports.  The Flyers can’t win by playing a clean hockey game and there is no room in pro sports for horse****.  Hartnel is a pile of horse**** and should be boucing at a bar

Hey dyke, you talk a big game, but you clearly don’t know what you’re talking about.
