More bad news for Skins fans: the team placed safety Chris Horton on injured reserve after injuring his foot during the team's loss to the Atlanta Falcons. The Skins had originally hoped that Horton would only miss 4-6 weeks, or 4-6 months if he requires surgery. It is unclear at this point which option Horton will chooose.
Horton was a surprise contributor for the Skins last year, emerging as a starting safety after being drafted in the seventh round out of UCLA. He struggled this year, eventually ceding his spot in the starting lineup to Reed Doughty, before winning it back last week.
The Redskins filled Horton's roster spot with running back Quinton Ganther, which became a position of need after Clinton Portis suffered a concussion last week that may keep him out for an extended period of time.
