Oprah Winfrey patient and ex-boxer Mike Tyson was booked for suspicion of misdemeanor battery late last night after a run-in with a photographer at LAX. Check that: it was a run-in with a paparazzo — my apologies to actual photographers everywhere:
The photographer told police that Tyson struck him once, airport police spokesman Sgt Jim Holcomb said.
The photographer fell to the ground and was treated for a cut to his forehead at a hospital.
Tyson’s spokeswoman Tammy Brook said the boxer was travelling with his wife and 10-month-old child when he was attacked by an overly aggressive paparazzo. “Mike acted in self defence as a father protecting his child,” she said.
The punchee, Tony Echevarria, was also booked for misdemeanor battery and reportedly called being punched in the head by Mike Tyson the greatest moment of his life aside from the time he scored that NSFW upskirt of Lindsay Lohan while hiding in her toilet.
