Portis Will Sit Out Week 10 Game Against Broncos

Clinton Portis will be sidelined for the Redskins’ Week 10 game against the Broncos as he recovers from the lingering effects of the concussion he suffered last week, according to Jason Reid of the Washington Post.

Ladell Betts will take Portis’ place in the staring lineup when the Skins host the Broncos on Sunday. Betts rushed 15 times for 70 yards last week in relief of the injured Portis. Betts has proved himself to be a more than capable backup throughout his career, highlighted by his standout 2006 season, when he rushed for over 1,000 yards in Portis’ absence.
