Until he got injured, Cincinnati quarterback Tony Pike was having a very solid year, but his replacement -- Zach Collaros -- has been nothing short of brilliant the past three games. Brilliant enough, in fact, that it was hard not to wonder whether Pike, now almost fully healthy, had been Wally Pipped.
If tonight's contest versus West Virginia is any indication, perhaps not: Though Collaros has played the bulk of the game, the Bearcats have turned to Pike in the red zone and he's been... well, brilliant. In limited red zone duties Pike has thrown 4 passes, completing 2 of them... both for touchdowns.
With just three minutes left, those TD passes are the difference in the game, as Cincy leads WVU 21-14.
