Last night, Rick Nash needed to score a shootout goal to give Columbus a much-needed win after a 9-1 waxing at the hands of the Red Wings. So he did the above to Anaheim's Jean-Sebastien Giguere, got that goal, and propelled the Blue Jackets to a 3-2 shootout win. "I'm sure he didn't know what to do," Nash said. "He thought I was going to fall. Luckily enough I put it in."
We should all be so lucky.
Even casual NHL observers will remember this is not the only spectacular goal Nash has scored. Video of his winding goal against Phoenix from 2008 is embedded below; I think it's far better than the shootout trickery. Feel free to disagree with me in the comments. If he tried that on some of the Bruins teams from my youth, it’d be one stick, one skate… and one broken ankle.
