According to CBS Sports, Cedric Benson did not practice Wednesday, but head coach Marvin Lewis indicated that there’s a “good chance” the running back returns to action this Sunday against the Browns after missing Week 10 with a hip injury.
In the Bengals first game against Cleveland this season, Benson averaged 4.1 yards per carry for 74 total in a 23-30 victory.

CBS Sports reports that Bengals running back Cedric Benson is listed as doubtful for the team’s game against the Raiders this Sunday. Benson strained his hip flexor during last week’s hard-fought win over the Steelers, and was forced to leave the game.
Rookie Bernard Scott, Brian Leonard, and recently signed Larry Johnson figure to fill in for Benson if he cannot play.

Via the Bengals official Twitter feed comes news that running back Cedric Benson did not participate in practice on Thursday. Benson left last week’s game against the Steelers with a hip injury, and had sounded confident about his prospects of playing this weekend immediately afterwards.
The fact that the Bengals signed former Chief Larry Johnson seemed to indicate that the team was less sanguine about Benson returning so quickly. The Bengals also might figure that they can afford to rest Benson this week when they take on the woeful Raiders, allowing Benson to get closer to full strength.

Add another name to the list of banged up running backs from Week 10: Cedric Benson. According to the Cincinnati Enquirer, Benson sustained a hip injury during the defensive slugfest between the Bengals and Steelers, leaving the game in the third quarter, before returning for a series, and eventually leaving again. Rookie Bernard Scott replaced Benson in the lineup.
While Benson was forced to watch the fourth quarter from the sidelines, it does not sound as if he will much time, if at all. ESPN reports that Benson's injury was only a hip flexor strain, and that he should be ready to play in the team's Week 11 game against the Oakland Raiders. This is certainly great news for both the rejuvenated Benson and the resurgent Bengals, who opened up essentially a two-game lead on the Steelers by sweeping the season series between the two in Week 10.
Despite only rushing for 22 yards in Week 10, Benson still ranks sixth in the league in rushing.

Marvin Lewis: Benson Will Start In Week 13
Cincinnati head coach Marvin Lewis says running back Cedric Benson will be back in the starting lineup for the Bengals when they host the Detroit Lions in Week 13, according to the team’s official Twitter feed.
Benson has sat out the last two weeks due to a hip injury. With backup Bernard Scott likely limited or out the next few weeks with mild turf toe, Benson and recently acquired Larry Johnson — who went off for over 100 yards last week — figure to carry the load from the Bengals from here on out.
