Isiah Thomas is finally in the win column as head coach of Florida International. He gets it courtesy of something called Florida Memorial. Despite the feel-good aura around the first won of the season for the Fightin' Zekes, it wasn't easy.
FIU beat the Lions by 26 points last season but struggled to put the game away. Marvin Roberts made a 3-pointer that give the Panthers the lead to stay with 2½ minutes left.
That's a six-point win over Florida Memorial. Who is in The Sun Conference. Which is in the NAIA. Yeah, it's gonna be a long season...
