The Ralphie Report: At A Loss For Words

It’s been a tough season for Buffalo fans. Heck, it’s been a tough couple of seasons. So tonight’s woulda-coulda-shoulda-loss to Oklahoma State stings just a little bit.

I really am at a loss for words. Part of me was somewhat satisfied that the Buffs were in the game, part of me is absolutely embarrassed to once again have a second half lead and blow the game. Colorado had a 21 – 10 advantage in the third quarter while forcing four turnovers (should have been more) but once again, let up the big play or missed the field goal or couldn’t convert on offense or couldn’t stop a third string quarterback.

Mike Gundy's Awesome Hair No Help To OSU, Cowboys, Buffaloes Tied 7-7 In First

Stillwater, OK (Sports Network) - Keith Toston ran for 172 yards and a touchdown and added a receiving score, and the 12th-ranked Oklahoma State Cowboys -- playing without starting quarterback Zac Robinson -- narrowly avoided an upset with a 31-28 win over Colorado.

Robinson sat after taking a vicious hit at the end of last week's win over Texas Tech, and Brandon Weeden threw for 168 yards and two touchdowns on 10- of-15 passing for Oklahoma State (9-2, 6-1 Big 12), which kept its slim hopes for a BCS berth alive with its third straight win.

Weeden played only the second half after starter Alex Cate went 0-for-9 passing with an interception in the first half. Perrish Cox added a punt return for a touchdown in the victory.

Tyler Hansen completed 23-of-37 passes for 169 yards and two scores for Colorado (3-8, 2-5), which has lost four of five. Hansen exited for a brief period of time with a thumb injury before returning, and Cody Hawkins threw for 69 yards and a touchdown on 7-of-11 passing in defeat.

Markques Simas, Scotty McKnight and Riar Geer had a touchdown reception apiece for the Buffaloes. Colorado had just 13 rushing yards in the game.
