The Knicks put a great deal of thought into bringing Allen Iverson to New York to help rejuvenate the 2-9 team, but a source this morning suggested the team — after coming very close to going for it — has decided not to go through with making a contract offer for the future Hall of Fame guard.
I have to admit, this news makes me sad. Not because I feel like Iverson deserves another chance, but because I would have thoroughly enjoyed Iverson playing in Mike D’Antoni’s Seven Seconds Or Less offense. What can I say, mixing a guy who never met a shot he didn’t like with a coach who encourages quick shots is what passes for must-see TV for me.

Are the Knicks insane?
They need to win games NOW (don’t even own their draft pick) and for all the heat Iverson has taken for low efficiency he’s better than the backups masquerading as starting guards on the Knicks. For the NBA’s most expensive ticket you’d think they’d at least try to put out an entertaining product. Iverson in Seven Seconds or Less would be worth the price of admission.
Iverson has somehow become the most underrated player in the league.

WHY???
Anyone know where I can formally complain to the Knicks organization? Sooooo stupid…..what a bad move…I will not be going to any games this year. Maybe if we all cause an uproar they will come to their senses. I never met them, but I hate D’antoni and Dolan. And I know hate is a strong word.
