The biggest college hoops upset of the week that you may not have heard about went down this afternoon with DePaul beating Northern Iowa. This is an even bigger upset when you consider Northern Iowa returns all five starters from a team that won the MVC last season, while DePaul is a team that won zero Big East games and nine total last year.
But the win is more than just a nice early season notch on the belt for DePaul — it also keep the Big East undefeated thus far. As Chris Chase at Yahoo!‘s The Dagger points out, we’re now in day 12 of the season and the Big East is a combined 36-0.
Of course, that may all change tonight with the Orange taking on the Tar Heels. No pressure, Syracuse.
