Ladell Betts Has Torn ACL And MCL

After conflicting reports that Redskins running back had some combination of ACL, MCL and PCL tears, Redskins head coach Jim Zorn confirmed that Betts has indeed torn his left ACL and MCL, according to Rick Maese of the Washington Post. Zorn was not sure whether Betts will require surgery, and said that the team will wait before deciding whether or not to place Betts on IR.

The Redskins will reportedly bring back running back Marcus Mason, who was cut by the team several weeks ago, to provide more depth at running back.

UPDATE: Redskins Blog says that, prior to earlier reports, Ladell Betts will be placed on IR.
