San Diego ran over the Broncos in Denver yesterday, winning 32-3 and taking control of the AFC West, but not everything was good news for the Chargers because cornerback Antonio Cromartie is (allegedly) throwing champagne like they won the championship game. The La Jolla Light is reporting that Cromartie is "under investigation for alleged assault with a deadly weapon."
Cromartie allegedly threw a champagne bottle that hit another person in the head at Bar West, 959 Hornblend St., around 1:15 a.m., according to the San Diego Police Department.
The Pro Bowl star said that it "slipped out of his hand," said department spokesman Detective Gary Hassen. No injuries were serious enough to require hospital treatment, according to the detective, and no one was arrested.
While Cromartie's defense is that it simply "slipped out of his hand," his agent his taking it a step further and trying to implicate his teammates.
A cut to the head was suffered, and Cromartie was identified as the person who threw the bottle. That hasn't been verified, though.
"This is absolutely not a story," Cromartie's agent, Gary Wichard, said. "Antonio didn't throw the bottle. He was there with two other players. Antonio is at a complex working out. Again, this is not a story."
The surest sign that this may in fact be a story is the agent saying that it is absolutely not one. Where there's smoke, there's fire.

Ok...
Update your headline and check for accuracy. You stated that the referenced newspaper reported Cromartie as having been arrested, when they clearly state (even in the quote you provided) that no one was arrested. I know it’s a relatively slow news day, but don’t waste time on a non-story like this.
Any idiot would know that.

Fixed
And you aren’t Cromartie’s agent, are you?

Headline Mistake
I mistakenly said that Cromartie was arrested in this headline after reading that he was, in fact, arrested, because that’s what The La Jolla Light reported in their headline: “The La Jolla (CA) Light mistakenly reported Cromartie as being ‘arrested’ and has since changed the headline of its story.”
Their new headline: “Antonio Cromartie being investigated in alleged assault.”
