Michigan State football finished the season with a 6-6 record, good for sixth place in the Big Ten and a mediocre-at-best bowl bid. Sunday night was the Spartans' end-of-year awards banquet, and maybe reminiscing over the 2009 campaign stirred up some lingering hostilities, because several players allegedly celebrated afterwards by roughing up a few classmates:
A group of men, some of whom were described by witnesses as MSU football players, "stormed into the dormitory and hit and injured about seven students, some of them women," the State News reported.
A University spokesman refused comment on the potential involvement of any student athletes, citing the ongoing investigation, and so far no charges have been filed.

The Only Colors Reacts To Michigan State Incident
While there are still many questions let unanswered after the alleged involvement of Michigan State football players in a seemingly random act of violence committed against students in a university dorm, SB Nation's The Only Colors is readying their reaction, and it is both swift and severe.
They go on to say that ultimately, any decisions made will be the responsibility not of head coach Mark Dantonio, but rather university President Lou Anna Simon.
