OK, That's Enough Mark Sanchez

It's easy to pick on a rookie quarterback.  Especially when he throws five interceptions in a single game.  Or when he throws four interceptions and then fumbles the ball away.  Or when he gets chewed up by a division rival.  It takes time for quarterbacks to develop though, so when you spend a first round pick on your QB Of The Future, you would expect the fans and the press to give the guy a little slack, right?  Not if it's Mark Sanchez.  Not in New York.

"No, absolutely not," [Jets Head Coach Rex] Ryan adamantly said when asked if he had considered replacing Sanchez with Kellen Clemens before the eventual 31-14 loss got out of hand. "I don't think he's going to get any better sitting on the sidelines."

Maybe not, but on the field, Sanchez clearly is getting worse. And taking the Jets with him.

You can talk all you like, as Ryan did, about the Jets getting outplayed by the Patriots and outcoached by Bill Belichick, but the No. 1 reason the Jets lost was their own No. 6.

From throwing a pick-six to Leigh Bodden to fumbling the ball away on the Jets' final possession, no player did more to ensure the Jets' sixth loss of the season than Sanchez.

Ouch.  While the rabid New York press is going overboard in calling for his head, it is time for fantasy owners to pull the plug on Sanchez.  Things aren't going to get any better as the Jets next two opponents are Carolina and Buffalo. That doesn't sound too bad you say, the Panthers and Bills aren't that good.

The Panthers are fourth in the league in passing yards allowed (186.4) which will be a hard game for Sanchez to try to recover.  The Bills are ninth in the league in passing yards allowed (200.0) while they also have allowed the second fewest passing touchdowns (7) and have the second most interceptions (17).  If you're planning to start Mark Sanchez, that's a recipe for disaster.
