November 27, 2009 is not a good day to be a Tiger, whether uppercase or lowercase. To recap:
- Tiger Woods spent some time in the hospital after his involvement in a single-car accident.
- The Auburn Tigers lost out on pulling a huge upset over rival No. 2 Alabama. They led until very late in the fourth quarter, only to surrender a touchdown.
- In the consolation game of the NIT Season Tip-Off, the LSU basketball Tigers shot a pitiful 20% from the field in the second half and fell to Arizona State, 71-52.
- A spokesman for the Tamil Tigers, a group classified as a terrorist organization by the Canadian government, was booted out of the country just prior to a scheduled Tiger rally in Toronto.
- Six villagers in southwest China are in court after eating a tiger.
- Survivor's Eye of the Tiger was butchered by a Survivor contestant:
Over the credits we had Shambles singing Eye of the Tiger, or at least what she could remember of it's banal lyrics before resorting to "doo-doo-doos." I was momentarily tempted to throw up on her face [...]
Thursday, of course, was a horrible day for turkeys. Friday is no good for tigers. Assuming the bad luck train is chugging up the animal list in reverse-alphabetical order, Saturday will be bad news for tarantulas. I'm okay with that, actually.
