Canis Hoopus: Being Wolves Fan Is Like Playing Bad Golf

You’ll have to excuse Timberwolves blog Canis Hoopus if they head into curious metaphor country, tonight’s win is rare territory for them this season.

Wolves fandom is becoming a lot like bad golf. You go out and drop good money to make bad shot after bad shot on your way to a 90 but you keep coming back because once or twice a round you put a shot about 3 feet from the pin and you talk yourself into believing that with just a little more practice, you can drop your score by 5-10 strokes, which would make it all worth your while. If I can do it once….

Last night’s victory against Denver was that one good shot per round and dammit if it doesn’t keep me coming back for more.

Denver Stiffs: An Unacceptable Loss

There are good losses, bad losses and unacceptable losses. For Nuggets blog Denver Stiffs, this one falls squarely in the “unacceptable” column.

Tonight’s game falls into the nether regions known as an unacceptable loss. Entering tonight’s contest, the Nuggets had a day off, last played at home and, oh yeah, the Wolves were 1-and-f***ing-15 before tonight! All the Nuggets had to do was watch game tape of their easy victory against the Wolves in Minneapolis last week to further exploit the Wolves myriad problems, pound the ball inside and play halfway decent defense.
