Read More: ben rothwell, mirko cro cop, cain velasquez, georges st pierre, UFC 110
Nov 5, 2009 - From Sherdog.com:
Mirko Filipovic (25-7-2 MMA, 2-3 UFC) and Ben Rothwell (30-7 MMA, 0-1 UFC) have been scheduled to meet Feb. 21 in Sydney, Australia, according to multiple sources with knowledge of the bout.
This looks like an attempt to get Mirko a win so they can still use him for fights that are appropriate to his pay level. Still, there is no way around the fact that Mirko has only managed wins against the lowest tier of UFC heavyweights since joining the organization.
Rothwell, on the other hand, is trying to prove that he is capable of hanging in the UFC after being stopped by Cain Velasquez at UFC 104.
Rumors are still out there that Georges St. Pierre will make his return on the Sydney card.
