Andrea McNulty, the woman who filed a civil suit against Ben Roethlisberger for allegedly sexually assaulting her at a Nevada resort in 2007, has reportedly resigned from her position at Harrah's shortly after she returned to work.
According to Pro Football Talk, McNulty left on her own terms, but resigned because, according to a source, she found it an uncomfortable environment when coworkers began avoiding her after she approached several (presumably ones not named in the suit) about supporting her case.
Continued employment at the casino would likely have been problematic for her case, considering she is accusing her employers of working to cover up the alleged assault. Why, other than an attempt to appear to not be holding a grudge against Harrah's, would she return to work there? How can there be an expectation of a normal working environment under those conditions?
Going forward, it would be surprising if there were any major revelations in the case until it reached trial. The accuser returned to her place of work. Harrah's was willing to have her back. There was no outward hostility on either end, only a quiet departure. An oddly anticlimactic finish for McNulty's tenure at the resort following what has been a bizarre past three months.
