Cam Ward In Stable Condition; Video Below

The Hurricanes are reporting that Cam Ward is stable condition after suffering a laceration to the left leg by Rick Nash during the first period of the Carolina/Columbus game on Saturday night.  Hurricanes coach Paul Maurice had this to say about the injury after the game:

Maurice was almost ashen after the 3-2 loss to the Jackets. His voice almost broke when he was asked about Ward possibly being sidelined.

"That's going to be tough to take," he said. "But it's where we're at."

Ward should return to Raleigh on Sunday and Michael Leighton will replace Ward during that time.  This is not the first time Ward has suffered cuts to his legs, then Rangers forward Brad Isbister cut Ward's knee in 2007.  The video of the incident is below.

I would like to know which MORON's idea it was to allow Ward to stand with a bleeding laceration to his upper leg.

I’m currently an OR nurse and former ER nurse and was MORTIFIED that Ward was not taken off the ice on a stretcher with pressure to his laceration of his leg. It was clear he had a laceration to the inside of his thigh when the officials and trainers went to his aid. No one on that ice knew if his femoral artery could have been nicked by the skate blade when he was cut, so he should have been treated as if it was.
STUPID, STUPID, STUPID decision to stand him up adding pressure of blood leaving his heart and going to his wound only to bleed more. I was screaming at the TV to lay him down, elevate his lacerated leg and apply pressure. If he had lacerated his femoral artery even with a nick, he could have bled out internally before making it to the dressing room being dragged away. Do they not have any medical training at all? All lower body lacerations should be treated as critical on the ice as a neck laceration would be. Unexcusable and should be reviewed by the NHL for negligence.

you need to post this at Canes Country too, c59. We are all so concerned and need information.

So I'm guessing this would be "bottom"?
