Our Mountain West Conference blog, Mountain West Connection has this to say about what TCU has to do to possibly make the BCS Championship game:
TCU only needs to worry about winning -- because by winning out they will be ahead of Boise State -- but if they want a shot at the title game they need a Texas loss, which looks like a long shot, and most likely a Cincy loss.
TCU is the best shot that the non-BCS teams have of making the BCS Championship Game. Can you imagine the changes to the BCS if that happened? Yeah, us neither.

The computers have made themselves clear: A come-from-behind win over a good team like LSU is far more convincing than an easy win over Central Florida. Hence the latest BCS rankings, in which Alabama leapfrogged Texas to take the No. 2 spot after the Tide's close call against the Tigers.
Florida is still No. 1, naturally; No. 3 Texas, new No. 4 TCU, No. 5 Cincinnati, and No. 6 Boise State round out the rest of of the notables, followed Georgia Tech, LSU, Southern California and Iowa. Iowa fell from No. 4 to No. 10 after a loss to Northwestern, its first of the season.

Update: USC Ranked Ahead Of Oregon: Hope For Chaos
Another week, another whole new set of complaints about the BCS Rankings. The most recent cries of injustice are being heard coming from the Pacific Northwest, where Oregon is now ranked behind USC, despite the fact that, ya know, the Ducks beat the Trojans.
Sigh. At this point, the BCS is like a weekly meeting or conference call you have at work: you know it's coming, you don't like it, it doesn't make sense, and really, there's not much you can do about it. Except root for chaos, of course.
A good indication that your system may not be working: college football fans are suggesting riot scenarios in hopes that it will finally result in a change to the status quo. NCAA, you're doing it wrong.
