College Football Awards: Colt McCoy, Ndamukong Suh, Brian Kelly Among Honorees

ESPN staged their College Football Awards show Thursday night in Orlando, and amid awkwardly blocked segments involving Tim Tebow serving funnel cake to Colt McCoy and Bo Pelini eyeballing Ndamukong Suh's sister, actually managed to hand out some trophies. The lucky honorees were:

• Davey O'Brien Award:  Colt McCoy, QB, Texas
• Doak Walker Award:  Toby Gerhart, RB, Stanford
• Fred Biletnikoff Award:  Golden Tate, WR, Notre Dame
• Chuck Bednarik Award:  Ndamukong Suh, DT, Nebraska
• Lou Groza Award:  Kai Forbath, K, UCLA
• Ray Guy Award Drew Butler, P, Georgia
• Jim Thorpe Award:  Eric Berry, DB, Tennessee
• Outland Trophy:  Ndamukong Suh
• Maxwell Award:  Colt McCoy

The Walter Camp All-America Team was also announced. On offense:

Russell Okung, OL, Oklahoma State

• Mike Johnson, OL, Alabama
Trent Williams, OL, Oklahoma

And on defense:

Gerald McCoy, DL, Oklahoma
Rolando McClain, LB, Alabama
Eric Norwood, LB, South Carolina
Brandon Spikes, LB, Florida

Colt McCoy was named the All-America Team's player of the year. Additionally, Boston College linebacker Mark Herzlich was presented with the Disney Spirit Award, LaVell Edwards received the NCFAA Contributions to College Football Award (which led to his wife flashing a fresh black eye at the camera; long story) and Cincinnati-to-Notre-Dame's Brian Kelly took home the Coach of the Year Award via satellite, in a hilariously cringing exchange with national treasure Chris Fowler.
