No. 7 Syracuse Dominates St. Francis (NY)

December 13 -Syracuse, NY (Sports Network) - Arinze Onuaku scored 14 points and Wes Johnson added 12 with nine rebounds and four blocks, as seventh-ranked Syracuse defeated St. Francis-NY, 75-51, at the Carrier Dome.
Rick Jackson totaled 11 points, six boards and three assists for the Orange, who are off to their first 10-0 start since 1999-2000, when the program won its first 19 games. Mookie Jones contributed 10 points for the victors.
Akeem Bennett posted game-highs of 15 points and 10 rebounds for the Terriers (3-6), who had won two straight. Herman Wrice donated 12 points and five boards in defeat.
A slam by Jackson gave Syracuse a 17-7 lead, but Ricky Cadell knocked down a trey to cap an 11-2 run and trim the Terriers' deficit to 19-18 just past the midway point of the first half.
The Orange responded by scoring 12 of the next 15 points. Onuaku made three straight layups before Cadell interrupted the spurt with a three-pointer. Onuaku then drained a jumper and Brandon Triche added a bucket before another layup by Onuaku made it 31-21 in favor of the home team.
Syracuse took a 38-26 advantage into the break after Jones sank 1-of-2 at the foul line. The Orange opened the second half on an 8-0 burst and continued to pull away. The lead reached 30 at 65-35 when Jones nailed a shot from beyond the arc with a little over nine minutes remaining to put the game out of reach.
Scoop Jardine dished out a game-high nine assists for Syracuse...Cadell ended with 11 points...The Orange have won all three meetings against St. Francis- NY.
