Roberto Baggio Feels For You, Blair Gavin

I'm not a fan of penalty kicks finishing important soccer matches: They reduce a sport of full-field creativity and endurance to a guessing game. But I cannot deny that they produce drama.

Akron's Blair Gavin, who misses that last kick and secures the Men's College Cup for Virginia, made the final penalty in the semifinal on Friday to propel the Zips to the final. Alas, fate is fickle.

I suppose if Gavin could get a hold of Roberto Baggio's number, the two could commiserate.

And Akron beat North Carolina in the semfinal on a PK that was lifted high of the bar.
