According to the Philadelphia Daily News, Penn basketball coach Glen Miller was fired Monday morning.
Two sources told the Daily News that the change had been in the works for several days. Penn has posted a 0-7 record this season. It was Miller's fourth season leading the Quakers. He took over for Fran Dunphy in 2006 and led Penn to the Ivy League title and a 22-9 record in his first year. However, the Quakers have gone 22-36 over the past two seasons.
Miller will be replaced by assistant coach Jerome Allen. Allen is a former Penn great who played professionally in the NBA and in Europe.
Penn Athletic Director Steve Bilsky will formally announce the change in a 1:30 p.m. conference call.
