Coyotes Could Play Games in Saskatoon

Ice Edge Holdings have been mentioned as a potential buyer of the Coyotes since the summertime when the team was in bankruptcy. When they announced their intention to pursue the team they also announced a plan to play some games in Saskatoon or Halifax.

They recently signed a letter of intent to buy the Coyotes and they haven’t backed away from their plans to play games in Canada.

“Whatever we work out will be subject to board approval. We have to sit down with them. I think that’s their desire,” said Bettman after the first day of the NHL board of governors’ meetings.

I expect this will be a hotly debated topic among the board of governors when the sale is complete. It is an interesting idea and one that is worth considering.
