Looking for a holiday present for your beloved NBA fan? Why not get them a memoir of a convicted gambler that promises to expose the corruption that supposedly exists among NBA officials?
In all seriousness, Tim Donaghy’s tell-all book, now titled Personal Foul: A First-Person Account of the Scandal That Rocked the NBA, has found a new publisher and will be available in bookstores by Christmas, according to the Philadelphia Daily News.
The new publisher is VTI-Group, a Tampa-based media company that seems to be more focused on social media than publishing, at least according to this biography of its CEO. The previous publisher, Random House, scrapped the project last month. A source told Deadspin that the NBA threatened to sue Random House if they didn’t pull the plug, which the NBA denied.
The Philadelphia Daily News is also reporting that Donaghy will be interviewed by 60 Minutes this Sunday. Because of all the major problems the world faces, the culture of NBA refereeing is what deserves air time.
