Since its release, Sarah Palin's book, "Going Rogue" has been somewhat picked apart for factual errors. From a sports angle, there is no factual error that will get a better laugh than this one:
In her new book, "Going Rogue," former vice presidential nominee attributes a quote to UCLA basketball coaching legend John Wooden.
The only problem is that he didn't say it.
"Our land is everything to us...I will tell you one of the things we remember on our land. We remember our grandfathers paid for it -- with their lives."
It's a nice quote, but it really doesn't sound like something that Wooden would say. It was actually written by Native American activist John Wooden Legs in his essay "Back on the War Ponies."
Who should be more embarrassed: Palin or the fact checkers that let this one get through? Either way, "Going Rogue" is your No. 1 choice for your favorite sports fan who enjoys unintentional comedy this holiday season.

it’s a shame al gore’s material doesn’t get picked apart for factual errors.

I think each tribe should get a casino, then they should all have to stop it already with this you-performed-genocide stuff.

You’re right! There is NOTHING funnier than Al Gore’s stuff.

And this is covered here why? What in the blue hell does this have to do with anything? And the facts that were allegedly wrong are nitpocky things: she stayed once at a pricey hotel with her daughter (which is factual b/c she didn’t say she never stayed in pricey spots, but not often…and I think once in her time as governor qualifies as "not often). But there’s no point in arguing the point b/c Littman obviously believes everything printed on Yahoo…especially if it conforms with his political views. But ****…this is just doesn’t have anything to do with sports. So can we please keep sports and politics separate for awhile? I come here to escape some of the political noise, not be hit with it here.

Chris Littman is someone who graduated from Ohio University(not exactly Ivy league or a good sports school) in 2005. He’s what a 24 yr old who probably never played sports. What else do you expect him to do but pick on a female mother of five. You expect him to write about sports?

I love the Palin defenders that come crawling out of the woodwork.
"How dare you point out these embarrassments Chris? Why is there a John Wooden reference on a sports site? Wharrgarbl!!!"
The editors were sleeping through the entire book.

I love the palin bashers and obama suck-ups who are jazzing over 1 mistake on a quote. Too bad none of them demanded as much background info on the obowmao – we know more about Palin’s menstrual cycle than we know about who paid for BHO’s college (you wouldn’t tolerate anonymous tuition payment in the NCAA), what were his grades, how did he sit for 20 years in that racist Wright’s church and not hear anything, what were his dealings with Rezco, Khalidi, Soros, Ayers, … all of it glossed over and "vetted by annenberg" WHO HE "WORKED" FOR pasing out millions to left wing, hate-America teachers groups, but no, we need to DESTROY PALIN over two guys with the same name. SHE HAD MORE EXEC EXPERIENCE THAN BHO, and he is destroying our economy. The only saving grace is that most of you idiots who voted for him will feel the pain the rest of us are getting. REGIME CHANGE IN 2012.

Just more fodder for Keith "Dickhead" Olbermann, and all the loony Palin bashers. Joe "The Gaffe Machine" Biden can say the dumbest things but never gets called on it. Obama can’t talk without a teleprompter and the liberal Dems think he’s God Almighty. But, let one error appear in Palin’s book and Chris "Shyt Head" Matthews goes bonkers, and Olberwoman goes crazy spitting all over the camera and looking like the crazed maniac that he is. I wish Sarah Palin’s husband would drive to NYC, look for Dickhead Olbermann, and then proceed to beat the crap out of him. Olbermann is truly one despicable human being.

This is not a sport story but an other way to Bash Palin who has done more than this kid writer will ever do in his life time. How small of him. No wonder so many posers have no respect for this kid. I don’t. Came here to let him know that, not that he cares. Kids like him never do.
Why is oberman employed? Because those that hired him are dumber than him and bas hers of our system. They don’t care for the truth, just throw it out there and the damage has been done. This should never have been allowed in the sport section. TMZ yes, here, no.

What’s really funny is that she’s quoting a Native American at all…her state (and the entire Noth American Continent) has been the main oppressor of the Native American people for years.

You gotta be kidding me -"The Sporting Blog" is running with this trivial issue?
WHO CARES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Every book published in the freakin’ world has a few errors, typos or omissions in it -go check some of you kids’ school text books -they are full of errors.
I just hope "The Sporting Blog" sits and ponders such errors in all our politicians books (how about fact checking Al Gore’s works of fiction??).
Jesus to pete -I migrate to sports sites to get away from such trivial b.s.
If I wanted to partake is trivia and political-bashing, I would turn into PMSNBC and that dork Oberman.
"The Sporting Blog" needs to get back to sports and interesting topics -not this b.s.

Answer: Neither. The person who actally read her book should be most embarrassed.

I still shudder at the thought that Palin could have been a heartbeat away from the Presidency.

yeah becuase obama has really showm how great a president he’s been, and oh yeah found a way to bore the army cadets that he’s supposed to send to war. Plus so what if she made a mistake in her book, this is why people hate the palin basher’s as they seem to have nothing better to do then bash her for no apparent reason, they’ve moved on from bds, to pds

It’s a fact that the AP assigned ELEVEN reporters to fact check her book. It’s also a fact that the AP assigned ZERO reporters to fact check Obama’s latest two books. It’s also a fact that the AP assigned ZERO reporters to fact check Al Gore "inconvenient truth" movie. And liberal idiots continue to say there is no bias in the press.
To clemente1972 (and I have Clemente’s autograph BTW), I haven’t had a good night’s sleep since your thug community organizer and 150 day Senatorial experienced president took office. Nice speech he gave yesterday after 88 days of "deliberation", huh?

Hard to believe the people who endorse the GOP are actually trying to defend this empty-headed, politically challenged bimbo. Only Palin could possibly make George W. Bush look like an almost competent President. She has all the political credentials as that of a middle school student council member. Let’s just hope she keeps her mistakes limited to those in books, and not in an elected office position.
by rbdonovan on Dec 3, 2009 1:20 AM EST reply actions
The loudest ovation ever given in America’s greatest sports theatre ever was not given to the Babe or Joe D, Mantle, or even Ali. Nope, it was George W Bush. Recall that thunderous ovation as he drilled a strike from Yankee Stadium’s pitcher’s mound weeks after 911 during the post season! Right after he went to work. What I want to know is- how did that crowd of 60,000+ that night know that "W" would soon free close to 50 million people from the stranglehold of a murdering, Iraqi terror dictator while paving the way for their freedom and keeping casualties to 3.000?
- "W", I didn’t vote for you, but you were a stud! Yes, Mission accomplished!- I understand Obama is going to try attain a similar ovation when he soon will kick a soccer ball in an opening ceremony before a match between Cuba & Syria at a stadium in Venezuela. Should be televised on MSNBC, and or the Dictator Channel.by siddsquid on Dec 3, 2009 4:13 AM EST reply actions
Who cares about John Wooden. The old goat hasn’t been relevant in 40 years. Basketball was a joke back in his day. Heck, a drug abusing hippie like Bill Walton was an all-american back then.

Bahamaman – does everyone get a nickname in quotation marks in your world? Probably. Look, Sarah "Wooden Head" Palin is clearly a stupid woman. Are there other stupid politicians? Sure, and no one is arguing that. In fact, even Palin’s supporters here don’t appear to be arguing that she is NOT stupid; they are just pointing out that other politicians are also stupid. So we all agree. Now, she is clearly a stupid woman. She just confused John Wooden with John Wooden Legs. At least other stupid people are smart enough to surround themselves with smart people. Palin also f***ed that up, as her fact checkers took turms dropping the ball here for Wooden Head Palin. I would sooner vote for Tina Fey dressed as Sarah Palin than the actual Sarah Palin.
by ChiAdam on Dec 3, 2009 11:49 AM EST reply actions
All you Palin defenders….why on Earth would you believe anything this woman has to say. First she backstabs McCain after he brought her into the limelight. Second, she quits her job a little over 1/2 way through her term in office because she’s tired of people picking on her and her family. Now she thinks she can run for President…what is she going to do when the heat REALLY gets turned up Spew more of her lies GO BACK CARIBOU BARBIE!! You have zero credibility, you are a moron, and WE HATE YOU AND YOUR SUPPORTERS AS THEY ARE AS DUMB AND GULLIBLE AS YOU ARE A MEDIA WHORE!!!
by steelboys10 on Dec 3, 2009 12:02 PM EST reply actions
It’s odd that Palin’s supporters don’t say a single word about the error in her book. Instead they attack everyone from Al Gore to Keith Olberman. One of them suggests that in light of this misquote in Palin’s book, Olbermann should be beaten up by Mr. Palin. That speaks volumes about her supporters.

Nothing brings Team Sarah out in force like a little light hearted ribbing of their of Dear Leader. Maybe Sarah’s ghostwriter shoud have paid closer attention to a real quote by the Wizard.
"It’s the little details that are vital. Little things make big things happen."
John Wooden

Wow, the book left off the name "Legs", and this somehow generates all of this commentary. To sum it all up; Palin is an idiot, the media is biased toward the left, and violence is not warranted in this situation. Have a nice day.
