It’s been awhile since we’ve had a good, old-fashioned broken backboard in college basketball. But Oklahoma center Tiny Gallon made sure we had one to remember at the end of the decade. This happened with a little less than 16 minutes left in the Sooners’ game against Gonzaga in Spokane, on an attempted alley-oop from Willie Warren.
There’s going to be a bit of a delay as they try to clean things up at Spokane Arena. After the floor is glass-free and there’s a new basket ready to go, there will be an eight-minute warmup period for both teams.
When that’s over, the Sooners will have their work cut out for them, as the Bulldogs are up 18.
EDIT: ESPN just had Casey Calvary on. He broke the backboard at Spokane Arena back in 2001.
