The New York Knicks are 4-15 this season. They have no draft pick (thanks, Isiah!), B-level prospects thanks to passing on Eric Gordon and Brandon Jennings in consecutive drafts and personnel that doesn’t fit their coach. They also have seven free agents, and their front office has made it very clear that the primary goal has nothing to do with this season.
In everyman’s lingo, we call this a “bad work environment.” But since every situation needs a scapegoat, we’re just going to blame everything on Nate Robinson instead. Take it away, Frank Isola!
Nate Robinson is this year’s Stephon Marbury. The owner doesn’t like him, the coach doesn’t want to play him and his contract, much like his days in a Knicks uniform, are about to expire.
Sure, Isola writes that part of the problem with Robinson has to do with how his immaturity was nurtured by others, namely Marbury, but he also says Robinson acts like a six-year old and “carries himself like he’s a superstar with a max contract.” You tell him, disgruntled sportswriter! Get tough on the little man!
In all seriousness, the Knicks have far greater problems than Nate Robinson’s attitude. The Knicks are trying to channel all of those into one scapegoat, so reporters, let’s be smart and not buy into the hype.
Besides, I need my dysfunctional Knicks fix.
