Matt Mitrione Knocks Out Marcus Jones In Clash of Former NFL Players

In the main card opener Matt Mitrione took on Marcus Jones in a clash of former NFL players. While Jones won the first round on the SBNation.com card his ultra-amateurish striking skills were leaving holes for Mitrione. Jones managed multiple takedowns but was never able to secure a submission. The round ended with Jones on top looking for an armlock.

Quickly in the second round Mitrione was able to land a big right hand that put Jones out. A few more punches for emphasis and the ref had to jump in and save Marcus from any further punishment. The crowd had nothing but boos for the winner, who had filled a “bad guy” role on The Ultimate Fighter TV show.
