I know, I know, it's easy to check out of a game mentally when you're losing by 27 points at home. I also realize that it's an unwritten code to not disturb a man tying his shoe...
Oh, who am I kidding, there's no excuse for this.
I guess it's not like the Bulls would have won the game if they stole the ball - they were down 27, after all. But jeez, if you're Vinny Del Negro, what do you tell your team after that play? "Guys, you know, we really should have tried to steal the ball, because then we could have scored two points?" That seems like a lesson better suited for a bunch of third-grade rec league players, not an NBA team.
