College Basketball Top 25: Wisconsin, Texas Tech Enter; Duke, Michigan State Tumble

There weren't too many major changes in this week's Associated Press Top 25 poll, as opposed to last week's edition, when seven new teams entered the poll.  There was still a fair amount of change at the bottom of the poll, as Wisconsin (20), Texas Tech (23), Georgia Tech (24) and Mississippi (25) all were not ranked last week, but the top of the poll remained pretty stable.

The top five remained the same, except with Kentucky (fourth) and Purdue (fifth) switching places after Kentucky's two-point win over North Carolina last weekend.  Kansas remains the top team in the country after a 73-61 win over UCLA, while Texas and Villanova remained at No. 2 and No. 3, respectively.  West Virginia and Syracuse each jumped one spot to sixth and seventh, respectively, while Duke fell two spots to eighth after losing to Wisconsin early in the week.  SEC rivals Tennessee and Florida round out the top ten.

North Carolina and Michigan State dropped out of the top 10 after losses last week.  North Carolina's loss to Kentucky dropped them from 10th to 11th, while Michigan State's loss to North Carolina sent the Spartans tumbling from ninth to 12th.  Other teams that took a fall included Washington (12th to 17th) and Gonzaga (17th to 21st).  UNLV had the largest jump, rising from 24th to 18th.

Clemson, Louisville, Florida State and Portland were the four teams in last week's poll that did not make it this time.
