Louisville's Board To Meet Tomorrow, Likely To Confirm Strong As Head Coach

The Louisville Courier-Journal is reporting that the Louisville Athletic Association’s Board of Directors will meet Wednesday at 3:30 p.m., with a subsequent 4:00 p.m. press conference likely to confirm current University of Florida defensive coordinator Charlie Strong as their new head coach.

Strong has been a stalwart of the Gators’ staff at Florida for seven years, and has been the coordinator for two national title-winning defenses at the school. If Louisville wanted a dramatic switch from the Steve Kragthorpe era, they’re getting it in an experienced recruiter and a defensive mind with major success on the national stage.

A Great Coordinator

But will he make a good coach? I’m not sure, but he is one of the hottest candidates out there. Probably a good pickup by the Cards.
